DO:
• Be conscious of the impact you have on the players.
• Find out what each player is expected to leave the sport with you.
• Be firm, fair and organized.
• Give credit where it is due and help where needed.
• Be consistent.
• Give a good learning experience:
• Make practice and competition enjoyable, but not crazy.
• Set challenging goals for the players.
• Recognize the importance of friendships between players.
• Show your approval whenever you can.
• Listen to the players
• Relax and enjoy yourself with the players.
• Increase learning skills among the players not competition.
• Reward for players’ effort.
• Build confidence.
• Reduce competing expectations.
• Do not forget that mistakes are part of learning.
Don’t:
• put players down for not living up to your expectation
• Ignore them when they need some support.
• Blind them with the knowledge that they do not need
• Overdo the praise and they will not believe you.
