As with all others sports, here in the USA and around the world, soccer is a sport that is
bringing people together in a sociable and entertaining atmosphere. All coaches and
aspiring coaches must keep one primal key in mind during coaching sessions and in
schedules games and that is the prevention of injuries to the players. An injury free
player has the greatest changes of reaching their fullest potential.

The injuries sustained by young players should be treated differently than injuries
suffered by seasoned older players. If and when a young player is injured (it will
happened) in practice or in a game, is very important that he/she have a full recovery
before returning to the field. By adhering to this rule will provide the best possibilities
for the players to reach their full potential.

To prevent injuries in young soccer players, as oppose to their older counterpart, these
players need an adequate amount time for a full body recovery. As a coach, you must
incorporate into your coaching system an appropriate recovery period for each player’s
body (muscular system, energy and immune system) to recovery fully from a previous
game. By doing so, you are helping each player from being susceptible to injuries.
Coaches must, in an attempt to reduced young players from being overworked and
avoid injuries, set a grace period between games. Two to three days is an excellent
time period for recovery between games.

Following this simple rule of a “game recovery time” will make each your player be more
successful in the game of soccer.
