All season, you have been waiting for the opportunity for a breakaway to go one on
with the sweeper (the last defensive player) and the goalie. You make your move to get
by the defender but instead of faking him out your move was so weak the defender
simply took the ball right off of you foot. In that instant your “golden” moment was
history.
To be prepared for your next breakaway opportunity on the soccer field, here are two
dribbling techniques that can help your opportunity becoming “golden” one.
All of the great soccer players around the world have develops one of the greatest
fundamental aspects of the game. This is done by developing a rhythm with the ball. This
is called “ball control”.
Here are the techniques that you can developed with the soccer ball;
- The first thing that you must be aware of is that you must be in a relaxed state.
Make sure that the upper body is loose and flexible and not tense.. For you to be
successful, you must practice this technique with your soccer ball while keeping
you’re the palms of your hand facing to the front. A strategy uses to help the
upper body to be relaxed, flexible and mobile.
- It’s all about the knees for the second technique. The knees must be slightly bent
at all times to have total control of the soccer ball. With the knees in a bent
position while the ball is at your feet, will give you the advantage of turning in any
direction with explosive and exact movements to fake a defender. You can
practice this by dribbling a soccer ball then stopping it with your knees in set
intervals, i.e., every five steps. By doing this, your body will get accustom to
dribbling with the knees bent enabling the upper body to move more fluidly.
For you to be successful, practice these techniques regularly. They will greatly improved
your dribbling skills When the opportunity arises again you will be able to able to seize
that golden opportunity that you so desperately craved.
